This is the census for 1891. It is a snapshot of a time a couple years before the birth of my Grandmother. It shows Jessie living as a servant, working along side Margaret McCansh, who later would become her sister in law.

As can be seen in the map below, Cathcart is south of Glasgow. The arrow near the bottom certral area is Braehead. I am not certain this is the Braehead of the census, but it seems likely.
In the detailed map, Braehead is clearly shown. The arrow points to Braehead Road, and this may be the location of the McBride house. It is not entirely certain, since there are a few different Braeheads in the area of East Renfrewshire, but this is the one closest to Cathcart.
